I was recommended for a Rotary Youth Leadership Award at the age of 19 on the during the completion of my first degree at University.

The program was one week duration, intensive and fun, building skills in leadership and teamwork and awareness of opportunities that lay within Rotary and the greater community.

I was later chosen as a Junior Leader and Senior Leader of future programs before I was chosen as an Australian Ambassador for my district to attend an overseas leadership program to attend the 90th Anniversary of Gallipoli with 25 other Australian and New Zealand Rotary Youth Ambassadors.

The experience was pivotal and one that opened my eyes and changed my outlook in so many ways.  The friends and connections I made by being willing to have courage and try new things at a young age has given me wisdom beyond my years. It is an experience that I will never forget and one that I so grateful to have been a part of.
